My name is Angelo Ricco, I am currently a junior at Ronald Reagan High School. This is my first time taking a high school level art class. I have only really ever used one medium and that is fashion and fabrics, but I am working to expand that, and I believe that this art class can help me do that.
I love to try new things and work to broaden my horizons with the things I make. The jacket that I am wearing in this photo is one that I customized, I do a lot with fashion, I customize items as well as make things from scratch. Working with fashion started as a means of making clothes and accessories similar to items that I wanted, but couldn’t afford, but then it quickly developed into something much more and now I am trying to make new things and start new trends that aren’t typically seen within the fashion world. A lot of my fashion work has some sort of significance to me or a statement to it, it can be political and talk about stuff going on in the world right now or it can be more about me and how I feel. I draw a lot of inspiration from brands such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci for the luxurious feel I want my clothes to have, from Supreme for the street wear style, and from Off-White for the more experimental style that I like. I tend to do a lot of work with very experimental fashion in terms of the images I use, the way I shape the clothes, some things pop out and are more 3D, other things are more flat. |
